Sawn Timber is extensively used for building and construction in various industries and sectors. This range of timber is highly appreciated for its smooth surfacing, log-sectional shape and lumber. The product generally has excellent finish, durability, and high strength.

Sawn timber is cut from logs into different shapes and sizes and includes solid timber beams and more rectangular timber sections.  Plain sawn wood planks can be sawn widest possible when they are cut parallel through the log, with the least amount of log waste. Therefore, it is more economical in comparison to the other sawing techniques utilized within the industry.  The loops and growth swirls found in the grain patters of plain sawn wood give you that distinct “cathedral” effect.  Sawn timber also gets quarter by first quartering the log followed by sawing it perpendicular to the annual growth rings.
